AMI Brand – Model H-F1005CF – 5 Micron Filtration Rating – 10″ Standard Size

AMI melt-blown polypropylene sediment water filter to removes dirt, rust, sand, silt, and other suspended solids from the water to a filtration rating of 5 micron. This filter an excellent choice for pretreatment to a reverse osmosis system and is commonly used as Stage 1 in a 5-Stage Under-the-Sink RO. Use this filter as a standalone to protect equipment and appliances from sediment buildup, or as the first step in a multi-stage system to capture larger particles then follow with a carbon or sediment filter with a smaller micron rating. For example, using the 5 micron filter before a 1 micron filter or carbon filter will make the next filter last longer and give you more time before change-outs.

Melt-blown polypropylene are the preferred type of sediment filter because of their graded pore structure. The fibers are less dense at the filter’s surface, and gradually become more dense toward the center. This allows the largest particles to be captured on the outside of the filter while catching the smaller particles in the inner layers as the water passes through. This means you are using the entire depth of the filter, not just the filter’s surface – meaning higher dirt-holding capacity and more gallons filtered before clogging occurs (vs. other filter types which quickly become clogged as the surface becomes coated).

The 10″ Standard size makes this a universal replacement in most industry-standard 10″ filter housings. The filter dimensions are 2 ½” diameter x 9 ¾” Length. (These are intended for installation in “10-inch standard” housings – the approximate outer dimensions of housing: 4½” OD x 11¾”Length.)

AMI Brand means high quality – these filters go through a rigorous quality control process and are designed from quality materials for superior performance.
